Solana Labs’ GameShift platform, utilized for creating blockchain games, has partnered with Google Cloud, offering creators access to Google Cloud features. This collaboration aims to promote the adoption of blockchain technology in gaming among mainstream audiences.
GameShift simplifies blockchain integration for game developers, providing an intuitive API for user onboarding on Solana, along with functionalities such as in-game digital asset creation, branded NFT marketplaces, credit card payments, and payouts.
Through integration with Google Cloud, Solana developers can deploy their blockchain games more efficiently using Google Cloud's infrastructure. A representative from Google Cloud confirmed that Solana GameShift is now part of Google Cloud's partner network.
Jack Buser, Google Cloud's Director of Games, highlighted that many game studios on Google Cloud are interested in leveraging Web3 technology but face technical complexities. With GameShift integrated into Google Cloud's ecosystem, developers have a smoother path to creating immersive blockchain experiences without grappling with underlying technical intricacies.
Google's involvement in the Solana ecosystem dates back to 2022, when they announced support for the Solana network by running a validator and including Solana in their service for launching blockchain nodes.
