Cosmic Royale will introduce 40-player go-kart races to the Mocaverse, allowing community members to earn towards future MOCA airdrops.
On Monday, Animoca Brands' subsidiary Eden Games announced the development of Cosmic Royale, a new blockchain-based kart racing game linked to the Animoca-centric Mocaverse on-chain identity and community platform.
Scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of this year, the Mario Kart-inspired racing game will also be part of Animoca’s Motorverse gaming ecosystem, which includes titles such as Torque Drift 2, REVV Racing, and MotoGP Ignition.
Cosmic Royale features 40-player matches with multiple racing rounds and a survival-themed finale. The game will be the pilot experience for Cosmic Club, Mocaverse's new social gamification platform. The initial trailer showcases avatars from NFT profile picture (PFP) projects like Cool Cats and the Bored Ape Yacht Club, along with original characters.
"Each player can truly personalize their experience by importing their custom drivers and karts thanks to our collaboration with various PFP collections, making each racer’s story unique and memorable," said Eden Games Creative Director David Nadal in a press release.
Cosmic Royale will initially launch in a limited-access beta test for Moca NFT holders and Moca ID owners starting on July 24. Players can earn Realm Points (RP) by playing, which may qualify them for a future airdrop of MOCA Coin.
The Mocaverse MOCA token launched last week through the platform’s genesis airdrop, with the Ethereum token reaching a current market cap of $127 million and a price above $0.11.
While the beta version is restricted to certain NFT and ID holders, the full version of Cosmic Royale will be available for free on the Epic Games Store. Eden Games, known for developing past racing games like Test Drive Unlimited and Gear.Club, is behind the development of Cosmic Royale.
