Gunzilla Games has announced that its web3 shooter, Off The Grid, is now accessible on Xbox after successfully conducting its first console playtest on the PS5.
Currently still in development, Off The Grid is available on Xbox Series X through the Xbox Insiders Program, specifically within the Pioneer Playtests category. These sessions are currently limited to participants in the US and Europe and are scheduled daily from 5 PM to 1 AM GMT, with access granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Off The Grid is described as a battle royale third-person shooter for both PC and consoles, featuring an extensive 60-hour single-player mode alongside its multiplayer offerings.
In line with its web3 elements, the game incorporates NFTs represented as cybernetic limbs for in-game characters, along with customizable weapons that players can trade using the GUN token. However, it is important to note that the GUN token is not yet available for use outside the game’s mobile application.
Launched on Gunzilla Games’ proprietary Avalanche-based Gunz chain, Off The Grid marks the first web3 title to make its way to consoles. Supported by over $100 million in backing, it has generated significant anticipation within the crypto gaming community.
The game's success in mainstream gaming circles remains uncertain, and an official launch date has yet to be announced.
